Job Description: IT Solutions Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX (some work from home) 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and Implement Solutions: Create and document complex enterprise solutions based on business requirements, ensuring alignment with standards and planning for a smooth transition from the current state to the future state. May involve coordinating with distributed teams, testing, and deployment.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively communicate across diverse teams and locations, navigating different personalities and team dynamics to accomplish tasks.

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with IT application owners to identify and define business needs and technical requirements.

  • Technical Analysis: Conduct technical evaluations, including cost/benefit analysis, to ensure solutions align with company objectives.

  • Facilitate Design Discussions: Lead solution design meetings and participate in project teams to ensure design solutions are clearly understood and implemented.

  • Vendor and Contract Management: Work through complex contracts, including engaging new vendors and managing agreements such as MSAs and NDAs.

  • Project Management: Manage key variables such as time, money, and risk to achieve business goals. Risk management experience is a plus.

  • Technology Evaluation: Participate in the evaluation and planning of new technologies, and regularly review existing systems to recommend improvements.

  • Incident Resolution: Assist in incident resolution and problem analysis as needed.

  • Team Leadership: Manage individuals to maximize their potential, guiding them towards achieving business goals.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Project Support: Assist with project tracking, status reports, and team or scrum meetings.

  • Approvals and Reviews: Support software, hardware, and project approvals, and review software and vendor contracts.

  • Cost Control: Help manage IT costs and identify opportunities to reduce spending.

  • General Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and customer solutions.
  • Ability to develop growth plans for team members.
  • Proven experience contributing to the success of major projects.
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Independent worker with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptable in dynamic work environments with a customer-focused approach.
  • Advanced troubleshooting, problem resolution, project management, and technology evaluation skills.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders, especially in finance.
  • Experience in distribution or retail industries.
  • Skills in preparing and presenting business or financial results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks under pressure and meeting required deadlines.
