Job Title: Systems Administrator (Warehouse Management System - WMS)

We’re seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to oversee and optimize our Warehouse Management System (WMS), with a primary focus on Pathguide Technology’s Latitude WMS.

Based in Irving, TX, this role will be integral to ensuring our warehouse operations run smoothly, efficiently, and securely. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background and a commitment to maintaining high availability for mission-critical systems in a dynamic distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Management: Manage and maintain the Latitude WMS environment to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability for our distribution operations.
  • Database and Server Support: Leverage SQL database expertise to monitor, maintain, and optimize database performance. Oversee server configurations, backups, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with project leads, developers, and other IT team members to troubleshoot issues, implement system enhancements, and optimize overall functionality.
  • System Upgrades and Maintenance: Coordinate with third-party vendors for system firmware and software upgrades. Monitor system performance, conduct regular updates, and ensure all components are aligned with the latest technology.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain detailed system documentation, training materials, and procedures. Train team members on new hardware and software as needed.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting complex technical issues, leading problem-solving efforts to ensure minimal disruption to warehouse operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience may be substituted).
  • Experience:
  • 4+ years working with SQL databases, focusing on database administration and optimization.
  • 4+ years in high availability environments, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
  • 4+ years in systems design, programming, and support for complex software solutions.
  • 4+ years using Crystal Reports for data reporting and analysis.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with distribution processes, including receiving, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory adjustments, is essential.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in SQL Server, programming languages, and various operating systems.
  • Knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery procedures and system performance monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for detailed, complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.

Additional Skills and Desirable Experience:

  • Windows Server: Experience with Windows® Server 2008 and later versions.
  • ERP Systems: Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically QAD, is a strong plus.
  • Dell Boomi and Application Development: Knowledge of Dell Boomi and Pick programming is a bonus.
  • Distribution or Manufacturing: Prior experience in the distribution or manufacturing industry would be great.
